Keep these things in mind while hoisting the Tricolor
A flag hoisting campaign is being conducted in every house as part of the Amrut Mahotsava of Independence.
Provision in the Flag Code of India Under the Flag Code, the rules and regulations regarding hoisting of the national flag at their individual establishments or homes are mentioned.
A few points to keep in mind while hoisting the flag-
- Flying the national flag at home should be done at the highest place on the house.
- Flag pole and flag should be supported. It should not lean left, right, backward, forward.
- The flag should not be torn or dirty.
- Nothing should be written or printed on the national flag.
- No other flag shall be flown equal to and higher than the flag.
- While hoisting the national flag, remember the color order, saffron at the top and green at the bottom.
- When the tricolor flag is displayed vertically or horizontally, the saffron stripe should be on the right side.
-The flag should be in a position of respect and not parted.
-As far as possible, the tricolor should be displayed in accordance with the instructions laid down in Part-I of the Flag Code.
-Nothing including garlands or emblems should be on the national flag.
-Defaced flags will not be thrown away, but will be disposed of in private with full respect and dignity.
- The tricolor flag has its own respect and dignity. After lowering the flag at 5 pm on August 15, the flag should be folded so that it falls on the Ashoka Chakra and kept in a safe place.
